Wine with a Sting – new celeb wine to hit market

Another celebrity as announced that he will enter the wine market.

The new entrant is the ex-Police front man Sting who has announced that wine form his Italian vineyards will be up for sale in September.

Although the brand names remain a closely guarded secret, word play with the “Sting Wine” has already started in the media. Every Sip You Take and Message in a bottle is some of the word play that has been connected with this venture.

He also indicated that it was his profound concern for the environment that inspired the endeavor. He says, “I always use traditional methods – no pesticides. I am a farmer who looks after the land to nourish it and not to plunder it.”

Sting (57) ,whose real name is Gordon Sumner, and his wife indicated that a percentage of all profits from the sales goes to the environmental causes the couple support, such as the Soil Association, which promotes organic food and farming in Britain, and the Rainforest Foundation, which they helped to found in 1989.

Other entertainers who recently launched their wine brands include Simply Red lead Singer Mick Hucknall and actor Gerrard Depardieu.

It seems that it just the next step for celebs to create their own wine brand. But why not? I’m sure that these celebrity wines has a huge advantage in comparison with other newer brands that wants to establish itself.

Now we have a Sting wine what’s next.  A Jerry Springer Vaal Japie Reserve?
