OR Tambo Airport – An impressive gateway to South Africa

With visitors flocking to South Africa it is interesting to note that South Africa has one of the busiest air routes in the world.

Johannesburg to Cape Town is the 5th busiest route in the world with more than 50 flights a day. South Africa also boasts thee of the top 10 busiest airports in Africa with OR Tambo in Johannesburg being Africa’s busiest airport with around 20 million passengers per year.

A friend told me that these passenger numbers are dwarfed by the world’s busiest airports like London Heathrow, Frankfurt and Atlanta which handle up to 90 million passengers  a year.

O.R Tambo may not be the world busiest airport but  I believe this airport is  an impressive  gateway to our beautiful country.

What do you think of the South African airports?
